Oh dear God, I've gotten Sai-bunnies. This does not bode well for AkiHika 50.
I wrote this late last night and almost fell asleep while writing it, then didn't look over it much before posting it because I don't have time to. So if it sucks more than usual, that's probably why. :D;;
Fandom: Hikaru no Go
Notes: This was, in some strange and twisted way, inspired by Aishuu's Captures.
Word Count: 194 (Hey, why do I do word counts anyway? I guess I just like numbers...)
Sai had watched Hikaru blossom and grow, but there were others. Together with Hikaru, he had been able to witness many other young Go players earnestly trying to improve. He found it absolutely thrilling that even in this strange new era dominated by sports and video games, children could still find enjoyment in the ancient game.
Sometimes he wondered what it would have been like had he joined with one of these other children - perhaps Waya, or Mitani. Would they have become even stronger, would they have grown as much as Hikaru had? Or perhaps if it had been someone altogether different, someone with no connection to the world of Go. Would they have taken on the task of starting from the beginning and fighting their way to the top, as Hikaru had done? Hikaru had initially shown no interest in the game, but he was inevitably drawn to it. Was that unique to Hikaru, or could others be affected in the same way?
Regardless, Sai felt that he had somehow touched these others and given them a little push down the road, through Hikaru. The future was bright.
It made him smile.
